We introduced an innovative approach for calculating Block Time in commercial aviation. The Block Time and Fuel (BTF) model we developed computes the ground distance between origin and destination airports and determines the flight's cruise altitude. By integrating this with data from two institutional datasets, we accurately calculate the duration of the entire flight process, including taxi-out, take-off, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing, and taxi-in phases.
